Tennis Players - Analyses/Capabilities/Predictions
In addition there are many items of strategy that I will need to reference but I will reference these by name or description as and when necesary. These are actually all part of item 2 above but require separate mention since they need to be in the repertoire of a player, if they are going to get up the rankings and win anything. Of these strategy items there are 2 that require special mention or special elaboration. I will call these 2 the called Fundamental Understandings of the game of tennis:

Understanding 1: The ability to use the inside-out shot on the opponents' backhand side if rigth handed and to use the crosscourt shot on the opponnents' backhand side if left handed. I am asuming that you are rigth handed. If you are left handed, please understand this concept, mutatis mutandis.

Understanding 2: The ability to understand that in all matches the above all strategy is to press the opponents' back hand and nothing else. This ranks above all other strategy items no matter what they are. In other words, if you want a point then get it from the opponents back hand. You will get it. If you think the net charge will get it, you have a long ways to go (more on net charges later). No matter how tempting to put the ball on your opponents' open forehand side, do not fall for it but it is good to use it as a ruse and only as a ruse when necessary or feasible. (Remember how Djoklovicj beat Nadal 6 times in 2011? He pressed his back had mercilessly and again and again until during rallies Nadal thought the ball was coming to his back hand and then Djokovic easily put a back hand winner on Nadal's forehand. Indeed he had Nadal completey confused. It was obvious Nadal did not know what to do! That is what I am talking about. You must use the opponents' weak points. In the game of tennis, everybody weakest spot is their back hand, no matter what you think or what they think or what your coach thinks. Indeed even if they have a seemingly good backhand you can press it and confuse them into thingking that their back hand is weak! In any game it is legitimate to use ruses and to confuse and upset the opponent!)
I will now examine the nature and significance of the 3 fundamental elements and the 2 understandings and what can be done about each of them as far as learnig them is concerned.
The first element is actaually an ability to see a pricture and to be able to see it clearly. As I mentioned earlier it has nothing to do with the position of the opponent. This is because if the picture you see as a player of the ball, net and the relevant line(s) is correct and your element 2 is halfway decent, you will not miss the shot each time and if you keep it up you will draw an error from the opponent no matter what he is doing. The reason is that a player can only hit so many balls and if your element 2 is anything at all you will draw an error. Of course the opponent is also doing the same (if they know anything about this game! )and so the one with the better picture or elemet 2 is going to get the error from the other. So this boils down to how do we get a better PNL sense and what can a player do about this. As you can see this comes down to who is going to miss first. From this you can now see that this has nothing to do with the length of the shot, the pace or placement or whatever, as I said earlier. But now very first thing we must understand is that a player cannot really do much about this. This is not something that you learn or acquire or practice a lot and acquire it. This is pretty painful to swallow and almost disappointing so we better say more about this.
