I think you ned to use the net approach only sparingly and it cannot be your main weapon. It is only an auxilliary tool in the game of tennis. It rquires a tremendous amount of energy both physical and mental/psychologiacal. The only times it makes sense is when a rally is in progrews and and you hit a short ball to the opponent corners that they need to take with a sprint and not just a couple of steps. If your shot is not of that type they will return a shot that you may not even meet.
