Purely Deductive Analysis

One can analyze any problem or issue using facts and data.

But the problem with this approach  is that the data analysis

or empirical researches need to make some definitions before

any data  can be collected. But then the definitins can and are

at the mercy of the person defining the terms. The data 

collected  is then already skewed. Even if the data collection

defintions are more or less reasonable, a questionable

assumption, the conclusions  can be different depending on the

personalities of the analysts and  their own propensites and

likes and dislikes. Here is an  example:

How many Americans are below the poverty line? This depends on  the Povery Line

income defintion and then depends on colleting income data before we can arrive at any

conclusion.  But the income data defintions will be hard to define not to speak of collecting the

data based on  those. So you will easily come up with competing estimates of the number of

Americans below the Poverty Line, such  as it is. This is why in those presidential and other

debates all kinds of claims and counter claims are made. As you can now see that is

simply the result of different  defintins used and different data collections based on those

definitions and clearly depends on  the users of those defintions and the data collected based on

those. But in some situations the empirical appraoch is the only approach available as in the

above case.

But in most of my articles here I will simply try to use a deductive approach

wihout any use of  any facts or figures at all. My method is to bring up very

relevant questions and show the inconsistencies inherent in our  approaches

to problem solving of any kind. This is not to say I am unaware of the inherent

difficulties in our approaches. Just that a better approach is available,

although it may require  major efforts on our parts which may or may

not be available or forthcoming at this point. I am also aware of the fact

that in some cases it is actually Politicaly Incorret to use the correct

deductive approach for the supposedly common good of all.

My position is only to point out an approach or offer an anlysis and is

not to start any campaign  or struggle to bring about the correct approach.

I am not interested in any struggles or efforts.  Basically my approach is

that of an analyst and not that of a reformer. This is strictly an apolitical

approach. I have no desire to correct anybody or to change anything or

to bring about anything.

I am also aware that not all persons can follow such a stricitly analytical

and cold approach.  Indeed, that is not even neccesay and requires a

very strict regimen of trainig to develop such  an approach.
